Washington, D.C.- Senator Tom Cotton today released the following statement on Senate Democrats refusal to allow debate on Department of Homeland Security funding legislation:

"Today Senate Democrats put politics before our national security by refusing to even move forward on debating important legislation funding the Department of Homeland Security. This bill would not only ensure the Department of Homeland Security has the resources it needs to keep us safe, but also block the implementation of President Obama's dangerous and overreaching immigration executive order. Immigration is an issue of national security and it is imperative we consider the impact of President Obama's actions on our safety. Rest assured, my colleagues and I are committed to funding the Department of Homeland Security and stopping President Obama's unlawful immigration executive order."
