Washington, D.C. - Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today released the following statement on the passage of a Senate resolution commemorating the 70th anniversary of The Old Guard's reactivation into service:

"Ever since the early days of the republic, the 3rd Infantry Regiment, more commonly known as the Old Guard, has set the highest standards of military conduct and character. Anyone who's seen its men and women at Arlington National Cemetery, whether guarding the Tomb of the Unknowns or conducting funerals, stands in awe of their skill and proficiency, their care and diligence, their faithfulness and discipline. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Old Guard's reactivation, and given how much its men and women have done to preserve U.S. history, I think it's fitting that the U.S. Senate pay them tribute and thank them on behalf of a grateful nation."
