Washington, D.C.- Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today released the following statement on King Abdullah's decision to fund the restoration of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre:

"I commend King Abdullah for his generosity and continued commitment to the preservation of holy sites in the Holy Land. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, by tradition the site of both Jesus's crucifixion and entombment, is a sacred site for Christians, but has unfortunately suffered maintenance declines in recent years under divided governance. King Abdullah's generous contribution will help restore the church and ensure Christians from around the world can experience it in its full glory. His example is a model for leaders across the Middle East, and a good reminder of the value of loyal, committed allies of the United States."
