Washington, D.C.—  Senator Tom Cotton today released the following statement on the Senate's anticipated vote on final approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline later this week:

"This week, the Senate should finish debate and vote on a bill approving the Keystone XL pipeline. Unfortunately, President Obama and his allies fail to realize the importance of this project. His own chief of staff lamented the length of time the Senate has spent debating a 'single infrastructure bill', casting doubt on the economic benefits of the Keystone XL Pipeline.

"Arkansans know this project is a win for our state economy. Not only will it lower energy costs across the board, it will create and sustain hundreds of jobs right here in Arkansas at Welspun Tubular. Welspun workers have already constructed hundreds of miles of pipeline, and they're ready to start building more. The real blame lies with President Obama, who has needlessly delayed this project for over six years.  Arkansas workers can't afford to wait any longer. I urge my colleagues in the Senate to put politics aside and allow a final vote on the Keystone XL Pipeline.  And I urge President Obama to side with Arkansas and American workers and allow the Keystone pipeline to move forward."
