Cotton Praises Change Allowing Labeling of Israeli Goods
Washington, D.C. — Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) released the statement below after the administration announced that “all producers within areas where Israel exercises the relevant authorities – most notably? Area C ?under the Oslo Accords ?–? will be required to ?mark ?goods as ?’Israel’, ?’Product of Israel’, or ‘Made in Israel’ ?when exporting to the United States.”
Yesterday, Senator Cotton sent a letter with Senate colleagues urging the change in U.S. customs policy.
“Anti-Israel demagogues like the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions gang have long weaponized country-of-origin rules in their efforts to delegitimize Israel and discriminate against its goods. I commend the administration for heeding my call to end the discriminatory treatment of Israeli goods produced in Judea and Samaria, so they may be labeled properly, ‘Made in Israel.’”
