Washington, D.C. - Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today released the following statement on the decision by the Department of Housing and Urban Development to stop insuring new mortgages on homes with PACE assessments:

"I commend Secretary Carson for acting on my request from earlier this year and reversing this dangerous policy. We shouldn't allow PACE lenders to come before taxpayers. Instead, we should help homeowners by requiring greater disclosure for residential PACE loans. Secretary Carson's decision today is a good down payment on that effort, and I applaud the administration for protecting homeowners and taxpayers alike."
