Washington, D.C. - Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today released the following statement urging his colleagues to add a repeal of Obamacare's individual mandate to the tax-reform bill:

"The tax-reform proposal released today is a good start, but it would be so much better if we repeal Obamacare's hated individual mandate. This tax is deeply unpopular, it punishes working-class families for not being able to afford insurance, and repealing it would save over $300 billion. That's a lot of money to cut more taxes for working Arkansans in a fiscally responsible fashion. We can improve this bill, and the first priority should be to repeal this unfair tax."
