Washington, D.C.- Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today released the following statement on the decision by Senate Majority Leader McConnell to pursue the investigation of Russian Active Measures in the U.S. Elections through the regular order:
"I echo Majority Leader McConnell's sentiments that the appropriate venue for the investigation of Russian attempts to influence the U.S. political process is through the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI). In fact, Russian behavior is a subject that the SSCI has been addressing for quite some time, and is an issue that Chairman Burr has already held multiple hearing and briefings on. There should be no doubt that the SSCI will continue to investigate this matter and propose recommendations and legislation, as it already has, to address the matter."
