Arkansas Cheese Dip Wins in Blind Taste-Taste with Texas Queso
Washington, D.C. - Senators Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) and John Boozman (R-Arkansas) released the following statement after Arkansas cheese dip won out over Texas queso during a blind "Taste Test" among Republican Senators this afternoon:
"We're happy our colleagues validated what we've known all along: Arkansas cheese dip is the best in the United States, and the world. Thank you to Heights Taco & Tamale for coming to Washington and providing the United States Senate with a little taste of Arkansas. Senator Cruz and Senator Cornyn: you're welcome to cross the state line for some real cheese dip anytime."
Background: Today Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas), Senator John Boozman (R-Arkansas), Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas), and Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) hosted a blind "Taste Test" featuring Arkansas Cheese Dip vs. Texas Queso during the weekly Steering Committee lunch. Their fellow Senators sampled each type and voted for their favorite.
Earlier this year, the Wall Street Journal outlined Arkansas's claim to cheese dip, which sparked a twitter debate between Senator Cotton and Senator Cornyn. The result was a challenge to settle this dispute by way of a blind "Taste Test" among colleagues.
Arkansas cheese dip was provided by the current World Cheese Dip Professional Division Champion, Heights Taco & Tamale Co., of Little Rock, Arkansas.
