Washington, D.C.- Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today released the following statement on the FBI reopening its investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's emails:

"I applaud the work of the FBI investigators in their pursuit of justice, and I'm glad Director Comey is allowing the truth to lead this investigation. I'm sure the Director did not take this decision lightly. I urge the Director to take all appropriate steps to protect classified material and conduct a speedy review of these new materials so that any conclusions or consequences can be made public before the November 8 election. The American people deserve that clarity before they make their choice of who will serve as our next Commander-in-Chief."
