Washington, D.C.- Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) spent the month of August meeting with various law enforcement agencies across Arkansas to learn more about their operations and to discuss ways Congress and the federal government can help law enforcement professionals. In the wake of recent violence against police, Senator Cotton wanted to show his appreciation for the men and women who put their lives on the line each day to keep Arkansans safe.

"As a soldier in the Army, my soldiers and I put our lives on the line to keep our country safe, but at the end of our tours we went home and many of us transitioned to less dangerous jobs. For Arkansas's law enforcement officers, there is no end to the tour. They put their lives on the line each and every day to keep us safe and we owe them a debt of gratitude we can never fully repay," said Senator Cotton. "Over the last month, I've learned a great deal about what our officers go through on a daily basis and what we can do to make their jobs easier. I look forward to continuing my dialogue with law enforcement officers in Arkansas and across the country and to finding more ways to support our men and women in blue."
