Washington, D.C.- Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today released the following statement on the Supreme Court's stay of President Obama's Clean Power Plan:
"Today the Supreme Court validated what many of us have believed all along: President Obama is more concerned with appeasing liberal environmentalists than abiding by the Constitution. It's no secret his Clean Power Plan plan would have a devastating impact on Arkansas, leaving us with higher energy costs and a less reliable power grid. But it also violates states' rights by undermining the autonomy and authority of Governors across the country. As this case continues to make its way through the the legal process, I am confident the Supreme Court's stay on this plan will become permanent and ultimately, this unconstitutional rule will be overturned. Rest assured, I will continue to work to stop the Clean Power Plan and EPA overreach."
