Washington, D.C.- Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today released the following statement after voting to override the President's veto of legislation blocking the Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule:
"It's difficult to understand why Senate Democrats and President Obama continue to put politics ahead of rural America. Upholding the President's veto of legislation blocking the Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule means President Obama's EPA now has carte blanche to regulate everything from the planting schedules of Arkansas's major agriculture corporations to mud puddles on our family farms. The devastating impact of this rule on Arkansas families and farmers cannot be overstated. I am committed to working with my colleagues to stop this rule and protecting Arkansas from EPA overreach."
