Washington, D.C.- Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today released the following statement on the Senate's passage two resolutions blocking President Obama's Clean Power Plan:

"President Obama's Clean Power Plan is bad news for Arkansans and our state economy. It will bring a tidal wave of new rules and regulations and allow politicians in Washington to dictate how Arkansans get our energy. Worse, coal-fired power plants across Arkansas will be forced to close their doors and Arkansas families' energy costs sky rocket. That's why today the Senate pushed back against this assault on our energy industry and voted to stop these changes to carbon emission standards for both new and existing power plants. Rest assured, I will continue to fight back against EPA overreach and work to stop the Clean Power Plan in its tracks."
