Washington, D.C.- Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today released the following statement on the Senate passage of the FY 2016 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act:
"Tomorrow we honor the men and women who served our country in uniform. So it is appropriate that today the Senate passed a bill that supports both our military and our veterans by funding military construction projects and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
"Our veterans put their lives on the line for our freedom and we should provide them with the best care and support available. The problems they've faced in recent years are egregious, not overblown as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton falsely asserted, and must be fixed. To that end, this bill provides over $70 billion for veterans programs and almost $2 billion for medical care for America's 20 million veterans. Rest assured, I will continue to fight for troops-past and present."
