Washington, D.C.- Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today returns from a weeklong trip to the Middle East led by U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell where they visited Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Afghanistan. McConnell and Cotton were also joined by Senators Mike Rounds (R-SD) and Joni Ernst (R-IA) and Representative Andy Barr (R-KY). During their trip, the lawmakers met with U.S. troops and military and political leaders to review regional issues and the counter-ISIL campaign. In addition to visiting with soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines from Arkansas, Senator Cotton and the delegation also met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, KRG President Masoud Barzani, Afghan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah, and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.


The delegation returns to Washington, D.C. on Saturday.
